Obituary of Ralph Ernest Davis, Sr.

Ralph E. Davis, Sr., 100, husband to the late Emma Randall Davis and Ellen Sizemore Davis, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

Mr. Davis was born in Iva to the late Earl Vernon Davis and Minnie Matilda Prince Davis.  He retired from Greenville Mack Sales and was a member of Standing Springs Baptist Church.  He enjoyed camping and fishing, especially catfishing in the Santee-Cooper Lake.  Ralph collected Bolo ties and was proud to grow his own garden every year.

Surviving are two sons and their wives, Ernest and Karen Davis Jr., and Randy and Peggy Davis; a daughter, Becky Mayfield and husband Lewis; five grandchildren, Ernie Davis, Denny Chastine and wife Donna, Marty Davis, Christa McDonald, and Kevin Chastine and wife Kristy; and a great-granddaughter, Adalyn Chastine.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy Chastine; five brothers, Melvin Davis, Elbert “Chick” Davis, Frank Davis, Harold “Punk” Davis, and Vernon Davis; and four sisters, Lucille Todd, Myrtle Ouzts, Elsie Taylor, and Clara Meredith.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service.  Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
