Obituary of Jack Moore Clark

Jack Moore Clark Sr., 84, husband of Catherine Godfrey Clark for 64 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 25, 2019. Mr. Clark was born in Greenville to the late Marvin Floyd Clark and Martha Lillian Moore Clark. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from W.R. Grace. He was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and served on the cemetery committee. He formerly served as a Deacon as well. Jack raised and raced homing pigeons, and he also raised and trained Labrador Retrievers to compete in field trails. He enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of his silver queen corn. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Jack Clark Jr.; a daughter, Jan Davenport and husband Frank; two grandsons, Eli Clark and wife Jessica, and Chase Davenport; and a granddaughter, Spencer Davenport and husband Brandon Tyre. He was predeceased by a brother, Bruce Clark; and two sisters, Betty Dodson and Faye Jacks. Funeral services will be 2 o’clock Sunday at Reedy Fork Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Bob Whaley. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial, with Military Honors, will be private. Memorials may be made to Reedy Fork Baptist Church, 459 Reedy Fork Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
