Obituary of Ortha Mae Brown

Ortha Mae Epps Brown, 93, wife of Thomas Lee “T.L.” Brown for 68 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Mrs. Brown was born in Tishomingo County, MS to the late William Elbridge Epps and Mary Annie Malone Epps. She enjoyed square dancing, throwing washers, and solving word puzzles. Ortha was a prolific embroiderer and enjoyed NASCAR. She was a collector of Santa Claus figurines and Lennox Bird Series. Her greatest joy was being MawMaw to her grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters with their husbands, Maria and David Schronce, Martha and Robbie Durham, and Renea and Kelley Heath; two brothers, Thurman Epps and Walter Lee “Hoss” Epps; six grandchildren, Lyndsey Ensley with husband Brett, Stephen Heath with wife Lauren, Jake Heath, Dustyn Durham with wife Adri, Dylan Durham with girlfriend Kristin, and Anna Heath; and four great-grandchildren, Titus, Mills, Roman and Wilder. She was predeceased by four sisters, Gracie Spearman, Rachel Winchester, Genner Rae Parrish, and Nellie Ann Clark. A Celebration of Ortha’s Life will be 2 o’clock Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
