Obituary of Dennis Adair, Sr.

Dennis Charlton Adair, Sr., 74, husband of the late Barbara Jean “Bobbie” Hudson Adair, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 20, 2023.

Mr. Adair was born in Simpsonville to the late John Charlton Adair and Verdie Corene Donald Adair.  He retired from Magna Drive Automotive.  Dennis was a member of Hillside Baptist Church, where he actively visited shut-ins and participated in events with the Young at Heart group.  He enjoyed working on cars and was a fan of NASCAR and dirt track racing.  His greatest joy was being Grampy to his grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Rev. Denny Adair II with wife Tammy; a daughter, Dannette Adair; a brother, Dale Adair with wife June; three grandchildren, Holly Hughes with husband Dustin, Kelsey Forrester, and Brandon Wardlaw; two great-grandchildren, Karleigh and Jamison; his beloved dog “Lily”; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Don Adair and Dean Adair.

A Celebration of Dennis’ Life will be 10 o’clock Wednesday at Hillside Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
