Obituary of Barbara Anderson

Barbara Jean Sims Anderson, 75, wife of Alton Dwayne Anderson, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Greenwood County to the late Robert Brooks (Bob) Sims and Guynell Davenport Sims. She was a member of Carpenters Chapel and a former member of Crestview Baptist Church.  She was a 1966 graduate of Hickory Tavern High School and a 1967 graduate of Cecil’s Business College.  Barbara enjoyed arts & crafts, painting, crocheting, shopping, and trips to the mountains. 

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Mattie Marnell Anderson; and a granddaughter, McKenzie Nacole.  She was predeceased by a sister, Debra Sims.

A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be 2 o’clock Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Reedy Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
