Obituary of Sonia Babson

Please share a memory of Sonia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sonia Nadine Babson, a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2023, after a courageous battle with a long-term illness. She was surrounded by the love of her family during her final moments. Sonia was born on May 24, 1963, to the late John Dean Brown and Frances Carol Brown.

Sonia will forever be remembered and deeply missed by her siblings: Gary Brown and his wife Sharon, Connie Cox and her husband Ben, Marcia Young, and the late Stacy Brown. Despite her illness, Sonia remained a source of strength and inspiration for her family, always displaying unwavering faith in the Lord. Her steadfast devotion to living her life in accordance with Jesus Christ was a testament to her character.

Sonia took on life's challenges with determination and grace, facing her illness with courage and resilience. Her fight was a shining example of her unwavering spirit. Though her journey has come to an end, we take solace in knowing that she is finally free from suffering, joining our departed loved ones in heaven.

Sonia's legacy lives on through her loving sons, Kenny McClellion and his wife Ashley, and Ryan McClellion. She adored her grandchildren Austin McClellion, Sydni Kerns, Caden Harper McClellion, and Kristen Noel McClellion.  She will also be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  Her love and guidance will continue to shape their lives, leaving a lasting impact for generations to come.

Sonia's zest for life was infectious, and she had a warm presence that could light up any room she entered. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her memory will live on in our hearts. As we bid farewell to Sonia, let us hold onto the love, strength, and faith she instilled in us. May we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, forever reunited with her loved ones in the arms of the Lord.

A Celebration of Sonia’s Life will be held at 3:30 pm Sunday at Clear Spring Baptist Church.  Family and friends are invited to come together to honor and remember the remarkable person she was.  The family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior to the service.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Sonia, you will be deeply missed, but your memory will forever be cherished. May you find eternal peace in the embrace of our Heavenly Father. Rest in everlasting love until we meet again.
