Obituary of Lee Roy Garrison

Please share a memory of Lee to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lee Roy Garrison, 78, loving husband of Betty Marcelle Stallings Garrison for 57 years, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

Mr. Garrison was born in Piedmont to the late Billie Walter Garrison, Sr. and Leecy Phillips Garrison.  He retired from Texize and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  Lee Roy loved God, his family, his church, and his friends. He greatly enjoyed being a PaPa. Even with many physical challenges he was a prayer warrior, praying for those he loved. He was a devout Christian, RA Leader, and deacon over the years.  He enjoyed working on cars and was a collector of Craftsman Tools.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Brad Garrison with wife Lori; two sisters, Mamie Weisner and Louree Laws; two grandchildren, Beklyn Gillespie with husband Jessy, and T.J. Garrison; and two great-grandchildren, Hank Gillespie and Avery Gillespie.  He was predeceased by a brother, B.W. “Buck” Garrison, Jr. and a sister, Inez Garrison.

The celebration of Lee Roy’s Life will be at 3 o’clock Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service, Fountain Inn.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Columbia Baptist Church Cemetery in Honea Path.

Our heartfelt thanks to Interim Hospice for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, IMB, 3806 Monument Ave., Richmond, VA 23230.
