Obituary of Virginia Leopard

Lois Virginia Tollison Leopard, 77, widow of William David Leopard, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 8, 2024.

 

Mrs. Leopard was born in Conestee to the late James Aster Tollison and Lois Elizabeth Mahaffey Tollison.  She was the co-owner and operator of Dave’s Grocery with her husband David for many years.  She was a member of Ware Place Church of God.  Virginia enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, quilting and baking.  She loved thrift-store shopping and fellowshipping with people she met.  She had a sweet-tooth and was a collector of crystal glassware and vases.

 

Surviving are two sons, Michael Shelton Timmy Leopard with wife Kristy; two daughters, Lynne Waters and Candi Arbour with husband Rob; a brother, Bud Tollison with wife Kina; three sisters, Nelene Tollison, Linda Garrett with husband Johnny, and Teresa Fowler; fourteen grandchildren, Pamela Rich, Danny Waters, Tiffany Shelton, Brittney Cowart, Curtis Shelton, Heather Pitman, Anna McGuffin, Amber Anthony, Amanda Shelton, Bailey Anthony, Tyler Shelton, Angel Godfrey, Dakota Allsep and Savannah Leopard; twenty four great-grandchildren, Hailey Rhodes, Michael Rhodes, Christian Harkins, Breanna Newlon, Zach Cowart, Casey Waters, Zabier Savage, Audrina Poston, Isabella Poston, McKensley Poston, Aubree Harris, Akaylen Beard, Aulstin Beard, Arwen Beard, Dalton Farmer, Autumn Farmer, Liam Farmer, Abigail Godfrey, Emery Godfrey, Harley Godfrey, Dallas Godfrey, Kimberly Shelton, Lexi Shelton, C.J. Shelton, Bentley Shelton, Hayden Gagliardi, Kyler Horne, Cayden Shelton, Kynden Horne and Arianna Horne; and a great-great-grandson, Prince Savage.  She was predeceased by a son, Tony Shelton; and a sister, Joyce Knight.

 

Visitation will be 4 – 6 o’clock Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral Service.

 

A Celebration of Virginia’s Life will be 12 noon Thursday at Ware Place Church of God, officiated by Rev. Martin Foster and Rev. Tommy King.  Burial will be in Dials Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home of Nelene Tollison, 60 Main Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
