Obituary of Kenny Rice

Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Rice, 57, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

 

Kenny was born in Lynchburg, VA to the late Henry Vaughn Rice and Martha Lucille Tillman Rice.  Kenny was raised by James Moore and the late Margie Moore.  He had a never stop work ethic and invested his entire employment at Carolina Automatic Sprinkler.  Kenny loved motorcycles and dirt-track racing.  He was a huge fan of the University of Virginia Cavaliers, the San Francisco 49ers, NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt.  Kenny loved his family and friends and co-workers and was affectionately known as “Smoke-Dog” by those who knew him best.  He loved riding his Harley-Davidson and supporting Toys for Tots and other charity runs.

 

Surviving, in addition to his father James, are three brothers, William Rice, Ricky Rice, and Ryland Rice with wife Tara; five sisters, Florence Tillman, Charlotte Rice, Shirley Drumheller; Elizabeth Herron with husband Richard, and Bonnie McKinney with husband Doug; his boss, Ed McCameron with wife Lib; and his best friends, Robbie and Angie Hartman.  He was predeceased by a brother, Tommy Rice; and a sister, Martha Fletcher.

 

Visitation will be 5 – 7 o’clock Monday at Fletcher Funeral Service.

 

A Celebration of Kenny’s Life will be 12 noon Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Gary Montgomery.  The crew of Carolina Automatic Sprinkler was transport Kenny to Cannon Memorial Park for burial.
