Obituary of Perry Masters

Please share a memory of Perry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Perry Dee Masters, 84, husband of Frances Evelyn Mayfield Masters for 60 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23, 2024.

Mr. Masters was born in Easley to the late Willie Eugene Masters and Daisy Mae Moore Masters.  He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.  Several members of his immediate family also served in the Marine Corps, including his wife.  He enjoyed sharing military stories with other Devil Dogs.  Perry retired from Walmart Transportation.  He drove over 2 million accident-free miles and received many safety awards.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building bird houses and mowing the lawn.  He was a trivia hound and a history buff.  Perry enjoyed collecting knives.  But, his greatest treasure was his grandchildren, who lovingly called him Grandpa.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, Shane Masters with wife Kim, Marc Masters with wife Michelle, Mike Masters with wife Jen, and Ben Masters; two daughters, Marilyn Masters and Michel Chapman with husband Ron; a brother, Sam Masters with wife Fran; seven grandchildren, Montana “Tana” Masters with wife Chelsey, Meranna  “Anna” Deida-Masters, Noah Masters, Morgan Masters, Evan Masters, Eli Chapman, and Brandon Masters; and five great-grandchildren, Camden, Brody, Julian, Aspen, and Indie.  He was predeceased by a brother, Tom Masters.

A celebration of Perry’s life, with Military Honors, will begin at 4 o’clock Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Fletcher Funeral Service in Fountain Inn, SC.  Burial will be in Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
