Obituary of Linda Trotter

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Linda Cox Trotter, 77, wife of Robert “Bob” Trotter for 54 years, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Mrs. Trotter was born in Fountain Inn, SC to the late Charlie M. Cox and Ruth Land Cox.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fountain Inn.  Born with a green thumb and a passion for nurturing life, Linda found solace and purpose in her garden.  Her meticulous care and tender touch transformed her yard into a vibrant tapestry of colors and fragrances, a sanctuary where blossoms danced in harmony with the wind.  Her love for gardening not only beautified her surroundings, but also inspired those around her to appreciate the beauty of nature.  Linda found immense joy in the soul-stirring melodies of gospel and bluegrass music.  Whether attending concerts or simply listening to music at home, she found comfort and belonging in the timeless tunes that spoke to her heart.  She was a crossing guard at the old Fountain Inn Elementary for many years and children fondly remember their time as safety patrols with Mrs. Linda and the trips to Florida under her guidance.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her 4 grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by her family, including her husband, Bob, her children Rene’ Davis and her husband, Reggie, Jason Trotter and his wife Gena, and her grandchildren Jake Davis, Savannah Trotter, Abby Davis and Ella Trotter.  She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Caroline Rose Davis. She also leaves behind a sweet, dedicated and faithful caregiver, her cousin Janice Bush, who she loved like a sister.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 11 am at Cannon Memorial Park in Fountain Inn, SC.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorials may be made to the Christian Appalachian Project, PO Box 55911, Lexington, KY 40555; or online at capinfo@chrisapp.org
