Obituary of Margaret Foster

Margaret Elizabeth Thackston Foster, 90, widow of Jack David Foster, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 22, 2024.

 

Mrs. Foster was born in Fountain Inn to the late Jesse Dacus Thackston and Kate Waddell Thackston.  She was a lifelong member of Standing Springs Baptist Church.  Margaret was Valedictorian of the Fountain Inn High School Class of 1952.  She had a wonderful work career with Belks and Texize before retiring with M&M Tax Service.  She was an avid reader and a devout Elvis fan.  Margaret loved her family and trips to the beach with her girls.  Her greatest joy came in being Nana to her grandchildren.

 

Surviving are three daughters, Kathy Phillips (Mike), Jackie Anderson (David), and Linda Foster; a brother, Preston Thackston (Sue); two sisters, Peggy Woods(David) and Marjean McRoberts (Bill); ten grandchildren, Ryan Watson (Jennifer), Jessica Lanae Powers (Patrick), Andrew Phillips, Corbin Estes (Jessica), Harrison Estes, Brian Anderson (Jennifer), Lauren Walker (Jonathan), Kyle Anderson (Corrie), Katie Edwards, Jacob Kimble; ten great grandchildren, Cooper Watson, Samantha Watson, Henley Powers, Everly Powers, Harper Grace Estes, Scottie Reese Estes, Luke Anderson, Colton Anderson, Caroline Marie Walker, Evelyn Walker; She was predeceased by four brothers, Jim Thackston, Roy Thackston, Ted Thackston and Jack Thackston; and two sisters, Sara Dunn and Mary Cook.

 

Visitation will be 1:30 – 2:30 PM Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service.

 

Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Standing Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
