Obituary of Gladys Clardy

Gladys Etta Shaver Clardy, 81, widow of Dexter Lee Clardy, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Mrs. Clardy was born in Union to the late David Melvin Shaver and Effie Crocker Shaver.  She loved reading the newspaper, going to the racetrack and singing karaoke, but her greatest love was her family.

Surviving, are a son, Marty Brown; a daughter, Lynn Harbeson (Carl); a sister, Kathleen Ivy; eight grandchildren, Marcus Brown (Alicia), Jonathan Burton (McCoy), Katrina Cunningham (Chris), Brittany Norris (Keith), Alicia Brown (Dion), Josh Brown (Bonnie), Kyle Brown (Jessica) and Hope Steese (Shane) and seventeen great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a son, Charles Brown; three brothers, Ernest Shaver, Joseph Shaver and Jerry Shaver; four sisters, Linda Shaver, Geneva Hurley, Dorothy Nelson and Daisy Bagwell and a grandson, Christopher Burton.

The family will receive friends from 4-6pm Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service.

Graveside Services will be 3 o’clock Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
