Obituary of Herbert Dickerson

Herbert Franklin Dickerson, 78, husband of Rachel Scott Dickerson for 57 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 25, 2021. Mr. Dickerson was born in Greer to the late John Wesley Dickerson and Gertrude Elizabeth Hammond Dickerson. He retired from GEN 3 and was a member of Eastlan Baptist Church. Herbert enjoyed working in the yard and was a collector of pocket knives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Carlene Dickerson and Beth Alibozek; two grandchildren, Nicholas Alibozek and Julianna Alibozek; and his beloved dogs, Cuddles, Baby Gracie, Baby Oreo and Lady Junior. He was predeceased by three brothers, Gene Dickerson, Don Dickerson and Ronnie Dickerson; and five sisters, Lynn White, Callie Traynham, Marcelle Christopher, Mary Dickerson and Bonnie Rodgers; and his beloved dogs, Buddy, Lady Luck and Buttercup. Memorial services will be held at 6 o’clock Monday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Committal services will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday at Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
