Obituary of Annette Hamby

Annette Pitts Hamby, 78, widow of Morris Allen Hamby, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Mrs. Hamby was born in Westminster, SC to the late Lemuel Elmer Pitts, Sr. and Kate Elizabeth Cole Pitts. She was a faithful walker with the Seniors group at Fountain Inn Activity Center and loved being outside working. Annette loved helping people and would gladly assist anyone in any way that she could. She was a collector of rooster and chicken figurines and adornments. Surviving are a son, Tony Hamby and wife Rebecca; a daughter, Wanda Searcy; three sisters, Frances Fortson, VergieNell Smith and Inez Burton; two granddaughters, Shannon Silver and husband Taylor, and Mary Katherine Hamby; and a great-grandson, Conley Silver. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Gene Searcy; a brother, Junior Pitts; and a sister, Martha Pitts. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 pm Wednesday at Cannon Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Jason Edwards. The family will receive guests immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 W.
