Obituary of Dorothy Beason Smith

Dorothy Ann Beason Smith, 89, wife of Robert Winfield Smith for 71 years, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 15, 2021.
Mrs. Smith was born in Simpsonville to the late Gordon Elmore Beason and Merle Josetta White Beason. She was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church. Dorothy was always by Robert’s side, whether tending cattle, working in the fields or the garden.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Lois Owens and Catherine Truitt; two grandsons, Joshua Truitt and Raymond Owens; and three great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Brantley and Peyton. She was predeceased by two sons-in-law, Earl Owens and Rod Truitt; two brothers, Lloyd Beason and Doug Beason; and a sister, Carol Parks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday at Rocky Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Graceland East Memorial Park.
