Obituary of Kevin Wayne Dettman

Kevin Wayne Dettman, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Mr. Dettman was born in Fort Dix, NJ to Garry Arvied Dettman and Marilyn Alice Dettman. He was an alumnus of Furman and Clemson. Kevin shared his love for mathematics as a professor at Tri-County Technical College. He was known for his great sense of humor, one liner, and dad jokes. Kevin enjoyed walking with his girls. He loved to run and was known as “White Lightening” at the Furman campus. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two daughters, Heather Dettman and Brittany D. Lampson with her husband James; three grandchildren, Henry, Janet and Mary Lampson; one sister, Kim Dettman. A Graveside service will be held 10am Tuesday at Graceland East Memorial Park.
