Obituary of Bob Adams, Jr

Please share a memory of Bob to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William Robert “Bob” Adams, Jr., 87, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 5, 2021. Mr. Adams was the son of the late William Robert Adams, Sr. and Will and Beatrice “Bea” Adams Forrester. He worked for Woodside Mills, Asten Forming Fabrics, and Piedmont Mental Health. He was a veteran of the US Army National Guard. Following retirement, he and his son Randy operated a lawn mower repair business for many years. Bob could repair, remodel or build anything. He was an original handyman. He loved his previous church, Bethuel Baptist Church (now Sonpoint Baptist Fellowship), where he served as deacon, choir director, and Sunday school teacher. He had a beautiful bass voice and loved to sing old gospel songs. He loved living on the farm and working on his tractors. He is survived by four sons, Randy Adams, Kenny Adams with wife Terry, Brian Adams, and Gary Adams and wife Jennifer; three grandchildren, Chris Adams, Braxton Adams and Cheyenne Adams; four brothers, Jim Forrester, Henry Forrester and wife Linda, Bill Forrester and Butch Forrester; two sisters, Jean Showalter and husband Don and Sherry Leslie; special “adopted sisters” Betty Putnam and Martha Harrison; and his precious lap baby, Rose Bud. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Monday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Louis Hart. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Burial will follow at Cannon Byrd Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to Meals-on-Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605; or to Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
