Obituary of Rev. Lee Walker Black

Reverend Lee Walker Black, 85, of Simpsonville, SC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 6, 2021. He passed surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Interim Healthcare Hospice. Rev. Black was born in Union to the late Mr. William Edward Allan Black and Maude Smith Black. He was a veteran of the US Army and served 36 years as an ordained Bishop of the Church of God. During those years he made 13 missionary trips to help the lost find Jesus. He retired from public jobs in January of 2021. Rev. Black was a member of the Ware Place Church of God. Surviving is his wife, Lynn Davis Black of the home; son, Rev. Allan Black and his wife Tracy of Anderson; sister, Dorothy Larry of Kansas City, KN; son-in-law, David Pulley of Graniteville; two brothers-in-law, Chris Davis of Simpsonville and Mike Davis of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Rosa Lee Black; daughter, Darlene Pulley; brother, Thomas Black; and sister, Sara Thurmond. Funeral services will be 11:30am Tuesday at Mauldin Church of God. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Entombment with military honors will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park.
