Obituary of Dale Watson

Richard Dale Watson, 67, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2021.
Mr. Watson was born in Charleston to the late LaFayette Richard Jamison and Velma Earlene Watson. He was a member of First Baptist Simpsonville and Fountain Inn Masonic Lodge #192 and was a HEJAZ Shriner. Dale was the owner of the former Watson’s Tire & Supply. He was a graduate of the S.C. Fireman’s Academy and retired as the Fire Chief for the city of Fountain Inn. He was a member of the S.C. Fireman’s Association and the Men’s Recovery Accountability team. Dale coached many years at the Fountain Inn Recreation Department and was a huge NASCAR fan. He was a volunteer for Samaritans Purse and a collector of knives. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; particularly prolific at frog-gigging.
Surviving are a son, Brandon Watson and wife Lindsey; and a grand-dog, Sonny. He was predeceased by a son, Blake Watson; two brothers, Larry Jamison and Dick Jamison; and his beloved dogs, Tyson, Buster, Fluto and Jerry Lee.
The family will receive friends between 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Fountain Inn Fire Station.
A Celebration of Dale’s Life, with Fireman Honors, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Fountain Inn Fire Station, officiated by Rev. Scott Lawson.
