Obituary of Dan Henry Cape

Dan Henry Cape, 61, husband of 43 years to Kimberly Turner Cape went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. Born in Greenville, Dan was the son of the late Edward Monroe Cape and Adell Lunsford Cape. Dan’s passion was dirt track racing. He and Chris could often be found at the Laurens County Speedway. He also enjoyed fishing with Tiffany and Dustin. He was a natural “MacGyver” and was known for being able to fix anything. Dan will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Dan is survived by his wife, Kimberly of Gray Court; his son, Chris Cape (Tanya Housel) of Gray Court; daughter, Tiffany Cape Chappell (Dustin Hueble) of Whitmire; Robert Shipman of Gray Court, whom Dan thought of as a son; two grandchildren, Summer Petry and Harley Petry; his nephew, Tim Watt (Tina) of Pendleton; great nephew, AJ Lowry of Greenville; and his beloved fur-baby, Bella. He was predeceased a brother, Don Cape. Visitation for family and friends will be 4:30-6pm Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service. A Celebration of Dan’s Life will follow at 6 o’clock, officiated by Rev. Mike Drake, and Rev. Jamie Hughes. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Matt, Kathy, Elaine, Sheila and Donna at McCall Hospice of Greenville for the loving care given to Dan during his final days.
