Obituary of John "Dean" Brown

John “Dean” Brown, 86, husband of 60 years to Frances Trammell Brown, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
Born in Simpsonville, he was the son of the late Claude Dean Brown and Geraldine Jamie Woods Brown. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Dean was a member of Clear Spring Baptist Church where he was a member of the Welcome Sunday school class. He retired from ElDeCo, Inc. after many years of service. Dean’s passion was working with horses. He was a member of America Quarter Horse, Spartanburg Horse Show Association, and Carolina Quarter Horse Association.
He is survived by his wife Frances T. Brown; his son, Gary D. Brown and wife Sharon; four daughters, Connie Cox and husband Ben, Sonia Babson, and Marcia Young; six grandchildren, Cory Fulbright, Kenny McClellion and wife Ashley, Ryan McClellion, Chase Abercrombie and wife Amber, Travis Abercrombie and wife Laura and Tesla Cox; eleven great-grandchildren, Chloe Fulbright, Austin McClellion, Caden McClellion, Noel McClellion, Holden Abercrombie, Benton Abercrombie, Maverick Abercrombie, Neveah Abercrombie, Natalie Abercrombie, Mason Abercrombie, and Rivers Abercrombie; and a brother, Alvin Brown and wife Carolyn. He was predeceased by a daughter, Stacy Brown and his brother Fritz Brown.
Visitation for family and friends will be 1-2pm Sunday at Clear Spring Baptist Church. A Celebration of Dean’s Life will be 2 o’clock Sunday, officiated by Rev. David Shiflet. Burial will follow with military honors at Cannon Byrd Memorial Park. Masks are optional.
Flowers are accepted. Memorials may also be made to Clear Spring Baptist Church Building Fund, 301 Bethany Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681
The family would like to thank the team at Open Arms Hospice: Dr. Patrick Carey, Kathy Smythe, Matthew Harper, Daniele Faciszewski, Andrea Karan, Patricia Collins, and Letoyka Williams. The love and care given to Dean during the last few days will not be forgotten.
