Obituary of Rev. Roland Lee Cook

Rev. Roland Lee Cook, 78, husband of 38 years to Julie Phillips Cook, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Rev. Cook was born in Martinsburg, WV to the late Elmer Oliver Cook and Ethel Virginia Bly Cook. Roland was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of Refuge Worship & Healing Center. He enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets and loved sharing the gospel. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, Kenny Hoffmaster and wife Unsuk, Terry Cook and wife Angie, Tom Barry, and Donnie Barry; a daughter, Brenda Spurlin; a brother, Ralph Cook and wife Rachel; a sister, Ruth Steinspring; ten grandchildren, Julieann Ramirez and husband Sergio, Douglas Szczesny, Angela Barry, Ann Barry, Sara Dwyer and husband Jack, Sam Hoffmaster, Amber Barry, Tiffany Barry, Carolyn Huggins and Eli Cook; twelve great-grandchildren; and two special nephews, Anthony Hoffmaster and wife Catherine and Timothy Hoffmaster and wife Ala. He was predeceased by two brothers, Henry Cook and Carl Cook; a sister, Darlene; and a grandson, Christopher Barry. A Celebration of Roland’s life will be Saturday 11 o’clock at Fletcher Funeral Service – Woodruff Chapel, officiated by Rev. Rick Bishop. The family will receive friends immediately follow the service. Burial will be in Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
