Obituary of Sandra Smith McGill

Sandra Smith McGill, 84, widow of Rev. Joe Harold McGill, Sr., went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 10, 2021. Mrs. McGill was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late Francis Edgar Smith and Sarah Delva Owens Smith. She retired from Pioneer Metals and was a member of Rabun Creek Baptist Church. Sandra enjoyed playing the piano and all sorts of arts and crafts. She was a tomboy by nature and loved the outdoors. Surviving are three sons, Harold McGill, Jr., Eddie McGill, and Alan McGill with wife Lori; a daughter, Lynn Dillard with husband Roy; seven grandchildren, Andrew Helpingstine with wife Becky, Derek Helpingstine, Sara Edwards with husband Ricky, Cody McGill with wife Adrian, Hailey McGill, Michael McGill, and Kaitlyn Dillard; and seven great-grandchildren, Amelia, Evangalina, Eidan, Elana, Annabelle, Ryder, and Ila. She was predeceased by a brother, Rodney Smith; and a sister, Lou Payne. Graveside services will be 11 o’clock Saturday at Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville, FL.
