Obituary of Irvin Ray Mitchell

Irvin Ray “Sonny” Mitchell, 77, husband of Kathy Goodroe Mitchell, preceded in death by his first wife, Etta Morgan Mitchell of 47years went to be with the Lord, Monday, October 18, 2021. Mr. Mitchell was born in Maddensville, PA to the late Walter Leonard Mitchell and Marie Fultz Mitchell. He was retired from the Army National Guard and enjoyed putting models and puzzles together. Sonny loved camping, playing music and spending time with his family. Surviving, in addition to his wife are a son, John Mitchell and wife Mandy; two daughters, Ruth Toulson and husband Theodore and Rosalie Smith; two step sons, Justin Henderson and wife Sandy and Blayne Henderson and wife Robyn; two step daughter, Lacie Gilmore and husband Steve and Keely Ingrahm and husband Lee; eight grandchildren, Jessy Rutter and wife Britney, Kenneth Rutter, Brett Toulson, Bonita Horne and husband Trent, John Estep and wife Lauren, Crystal Mitchel, Gaige Caward and wife Jess and Alexis Burd; twenty-one great grandchildren, Caleb, Ashtyn, and Evan Rutter, Brantly and Etta Caward, Eden and Era-Belle Biles, Hunter and Payton Slates, Robert, Johnathon, Joshua, Zack and Zoey Hall, John, Lennon, and Prue Estep, Ke’Maya and Kentrell Mitchell and Zayden and Easton Horne; seven step grandchildren, Zoey, Gaines and Dewey Henderson, Amelia Lancaster, Chance and Wren Gilmore and Finley Ingrahm; three brothers, Thomas Mitchell and wife Donna, George Mitchell and wife Janet, Richard Mitchell and wife Loretta; and four sisters, Norma Snyder, JoAnne Bickel and husband Calvin, Anna Mae Waters and Peggy Spade. He was predeceased by four brothers, Eugene, William, Robert and Paul Mitchell and three sisters, Alverta Sparks, Lydia Wanner and Betty Heeter. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service- Woodruff. Burial with Military Honors will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.
