Obituary of Patricia Terry Barbrey

Patricia Terry Barbrey went to her Savior on November 7, 2021. She was born in Summerville, SC on March 17, 1944 to J.W. and Ida Craddock Terry. Her family moved to Fountain Inn, SC in 1949. Mrs. Barbrey graduated from Hillcrest High School and Greenville Medical Secretary School. Patricia was married to the love of her life, R. Glenn “Pete” Barbrey for 44 years, until his death in 2007. She worked in the medical profession for 50 years, which included 25 years with Carolina Nephrology, retiring in 2013. She enjoyed traveling, working in her yard and sharing plants with family and friends. She was active at Pisgah United Methodist Church working with the youth and serving on various committees. She especially enjoyed the fellowship with her Church family. She also volunteered with Christian Release Time through the Greenville County School District. She is survived by sons R. Glenn Barbrey and wife Christine of Cary, NC and John W. Barbrey of Greensboro, NC, Grandchildren Katie Barbrey of Redondo Beach, CA and William Barbrey of Charleston, SC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was so grateful for her second family, her cousins in Fountain Inn who “adopted” her after her husband died. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, brother David, and sisters-in-law June Campbell and Annette Sullivan. The family will receive friends between 5-7pm Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Memorial service will be held at Pisgah United Methodist Church at 11am Friday officiated by Rev. Renee Garrison and Zac Terry. Private entombment at Cannon Byrd Memorial Park. Memorials made be made to Pisgah United Methodist Church.
