Obituary of Eileen Thompson Garrett

Eileen Thompson Garrett, 93, widow of Ansel Harold Garrett, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Mrs. Garrett was born in Fountain Inn to the late Walter Lee Thompson and Lora Tollison Thompson. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church where she attended the Fallaw Sunday School class. Eileen retired from Mauldin City Hall and previously worked in the Greenville County Tax Accessor office. She enjoyed life, loved her family, especially being “Granny Eileen” to her grandchildren and “Boom-boom” to her great grandchildren. Eileen’s family especially loved her “Sweet Tea”. Surviving, are two daughters, Brenda Garrett and Sandra Brashier and husband Marrio; five grandchildren, Chris Abercrombie (Mark Ross), Nikki Hill (Antonio), Brent Abercrombie, Evan Brashier and Ross Brashier and six great-grandchildren, Katherine Goldfuss, Taylor Goldfuss, Adriana Hill, Ashton Hill, Logan Ross and Katelyn Ross. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Ann Garrett; three brothers, David, Harold and Johnnie Thompson and two sisters, Ollie Thompson and Nell Chandler. Funeral Services will be 2pm Friday at Unity Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hillside Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to JoAnn Cooley, Gennie Sullivan, Amelia Sullivan Linda Roberts, and staff of Interim Healthcare Hospice for the loving support given to Eileen and her family during her declining health.
