Ruth later retired from Shriners Hospital Physical Therapy department where she touched the lives of children for over 20 years. Ruth was member of First Baptist Church Simpsonville and enjoyed the senior group activities with Ron. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved spending time with her family. Ruth was a good and gracious lady that never met a stranger, welcoming all with kind words and a smile. She enjoyed the many activities and adventures with her husband Ron. Ruth was a great cook and enjoyed putting a smile on people’s faces with her delicious desserts. She belonged to the local archaeology club, where she enjoyed attending meetings. She loved searching for arrowheads and other artifacts. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a grandson, Michael Henry Thomason; many loving nieces and nephews; step-son, George Huskey, Jr. and wife Dorothy; step-daughter, Beth Walsh; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
