James H. Chapman passed away on Tuesday December 14,2021 at the age of 83, his battle with health issues in recent years showed his courage and faith in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite any pain James came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
James was born to the late William Calvin and Ruth Scott Chapman. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Mrs. Judy Jennings Chapman; four daughters Elaine LeDuc (Gregg), Faye Patterson (William), Renee McMahon (Mike) and Elaine Swanson; a son Johnny Chapman; a sister Bobbie Hudson; a brother Roy Chapman; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Bagwell Chapman; a baby boy and girl Chapman; a daughter Regina Patterson Ballard; three grandchildren: baby girl Patterson, Michael Patterson, Isaac Swanson; two sisters Edna Looney and Nellie Kelly, and two brothers Thomas and David Chapman.
James had several hobbies which consisted of going fishing, wood working, making things for the house, gardening and, of course, spending time with all the family and friends. James was a man of few words, but funny when he did speak. He was one of the hardest working men anyone could ever meet, as he didn’t mind putting in the elbow grease. James was a very kind and gentle giant, a man of faith as he could pray the walls down. James was truly one of a kind and a true example of a person everyone could strive to be like. He was a true legend. His sense of humor, singing and the ability to teach without many words will greatly be missed.
