Obituary of Freeman Hipps

Robert Freeman Hipps, Sr., husband of Linda Joy Howard Hipps for 64 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Mr. Hipps was born in Simpsonville to the late Robert Earl Hipps and Ruby Helen Brown Hipps. He was a member of Upstate Church – Mauldin. Freeman was the founder and owner/operator of Hipps Electric. He built a business with his family that continues to serve the Piedmont area. He loved his farm and gardening; while also raising beagles. Freeman cherished time in the mountains and trout fishing. He collected Coca-Cola toy trucks and passed them down to his grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Robby Hipps, Jr. (Lisa); a daughter, Denise Hensley (Todd); two brothers, James Hipps (Daphine) and Henry Hipps (Johnie); seven grandchildren, Dalton Hensley, Dillon Hensley, Darby Hensley, Erin Valencia (Johnny), Tyler Morabito, Justin Satterfield (Sara), and Tyler Satterfield; and four great-grandchildren, Madilyn Satterfield, Jackson Satterfield, Enzo Valencia, and Mila Valencia. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joy Satterfield; and a grandson, Jason Satterfield. A Celebration of Freeman’s Life will be 5 o’clock Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation, 200 S.E. 1st Street, Miami, FL 33131.
