Obituary of Joseph "Joe" Lester Williams

Joseph Lester “Joe” Williams, 72, husband of the late Patricia Dean Sloan Williams, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 27, 2021. Mr. Williams was born in Fountain Inn to Catherine Elizabeth Boggs Williams and the late Jack Edwards Williams. He was a member of Selma Baptist Church, where he served many years as the sound technician for church events. Joe retired from the Woodruff City Police Department and later retired from MEMC. He was a member of Bethel Lodge Masonic Lodge #112. He most cherished being “Pa” to his grandkids. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two sons, Wesley Williams and wife Colleen, and Chad Williams; a brother, Butch Williams and wife Sandra; a sister, Frances McClure and husband Gene; two sisters-in-law, Linette Smith and Jean Hendrix; four grandchildren, Jada Roper and husband Zach, Haley Williams, Hayden Williams, and Paisley Williams; and two great-grandsons, Will Roper and Weston Roper. A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Selma Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be private.
