Obituary of Bobbie Jean McGuirt Helms

Bobbie Jean McGuirt Helms, 89, wife of William Coy Helms for 69 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Mrs. Helms was born in Fort Mill, SC to the late David Wilson McGuirt and Nora Dovie Griffin McGuirt. She was a member of Edwards Road Baptist Church where she was involved in the Stroup/Rincon class. She was a part of the card ministry. Mrs. Helms loved fishing and walking the beach hunting for shark’s teeth. In her free-time she enjoyed gardening, shopping and doing arts and crafts. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Tim Helms and Hal Helms with wife Robin; two daughters, Donna Thompson with husband Jimmy and Annette Helms; one brother, Neal McGuirt; and five grandchildren, Brandy Thompson, Elliot Helms, Addison Helms, Riley Helms and Emily Helms. She was predeceased by two brothers, Howard McGuirt and Bo McGuirt and one sister, Sally McClain. A Celebration of Bobbie’s Life will be 1 o’clock Tuesday in the Mausoleum Chapel at Graceland East Memorial Park.
