Obituary of Wayne Charles Woods

Wayne Charles Woods, 84, husband of Elizabeth Madge Thackston Woods for 62 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 5, 2022. Mr. Woods was born in Fountain Inn to the late John Claude Woods and Ethel Jane Smith Woods. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He retired from John D. Hollingsworth. Wayne loved yard work and being in his garden. One of his greatest joys was being Papa to his granddaughters. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Karen Cabaniss; two brothers, Bill Woods and Lewis Woods with wife Louise; four granddaughters, Haley Cabaniss, Taylor Cabaniss, Sadie Cabaniss and Katherine O’Shields; and two great-granddaughters, Aubrey Coleman and Autumn Coleman. He was predeceased by a son, Randy Woods; a brother, George Woods; and two sisters, Helen Peden and Gertrude Melton. Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock Monday in the mausoleum chapel at Cannon Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Jim Spencer. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 123 W.
