Obituary of Joyce Elizabeth Tollison Knight

Joyce Elizabeth Tollison Knight, 77, wife of Vernon Levon Brock, Sr., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Mrs. Knight was born in Greenville to the late James Aster Tollison and Lois Elizabeth Mahaffey Tollison. She retired from Pharmaceutical Associates and was a member of Ware Place Church of God. She enjoyed sewing, singing, and shopping sprees with her sisters. Joyce sang with her family gospel band – Jim Knight and the Spiritual Singers. She was a devoted prayer warrior who studied her bible and observed prayer time daily. She was a collector of bibles and depression glass. Joyce cherished being “Grandma” to her grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three sons, Gerald Knight with wife Robin, Kevin Brock and Junior Brock; three daughters, Karen Knight with husband Don, Kris Saucier with husband Ronnie, and Rhonda Hyde with husband Dwight; a brother, Bud Tollison with wife Kina; four sisters, Virginia Leopard, Nelene Tollison, Teresa Fowler, and Linda Garrett with husband Johnny; nine grandchildren, Adrianne Alverson, Amber Lancaster, Cody Saucier, Nathan Fowler, Keelan Knight, Adriel Knight, Owen Knight, Ashley Brock, Amber Brock, and Jenna Crumpton; and seven great-grandchildren, J.T. Alverson, Rylee Alverson, Brentley Tapperson, Hunter Tapperson, Easton Lindley, Cayden Garrett, and Declaine Crumpton. She was predeceased by grandson-in-law, Carey Alverson. Visitation will be 4:30-6 pm Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Graveside services will be 1 o’clock Monday at Greenville Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Martin Foster and Rev. Eddie Crocker.
