June Knight Obituary

Holli LaJune “June” Hembree Knight, 69, wife of James Edwin Knight for 52 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 18, 2022.

Mrs. Knight was born in Greenville to the late Frank Winferd Sorgee and Joan Delores Hembree. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she had formerly served as the music director. She retired from Greenville County Schools. June enjoyed fishing, family outings and trips to Disney World (over 25 in total). She collected tea cups and saucers, but her favorite joy was being a Granny.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Jamie Knight with companion Beth, and Josh Knight with companion Becky; two brothers and their wives, Jerry and Sharon Jeffers, and Andy and Tammy Jeffers; five sisters and their husbands, Nancy and George Lock, Tina and Jimmy Vittetoe, Frankie and Frankie Turner, Beth and Dave Gurney, and Pam and Johnny Hatcher; a grandson, Jesse Knight with wife Christina; and two great-grandchildren, Paisley Knight and Jase Knight.

A Celebration of June’s Life will be 3 o’clock Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park.
