Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Donald Curtis “Don” Bailey, 67, went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2022. Mr. Bailey was born in Gray Court to the late Jerome Regan Bailey and Ruth Rebecca Young Bailey. He retired from Mount Vernon Mills and worked the last 16 years at Home Depot in Simpsonville. To know Don was to love him. He never met a stranger and had a larger-than-life personality. Don was known by family and friends to possess the spontaneity of Clark Griswold. He loved the outdoors and fishing. He raised and released ducks, and collected Coca-Cola memorabilia and fishing lures. Don enjoyed Karaoke, playing Rook with his family, and being “Poppy” to his grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, Holly Bailey Pee with husband Jason, and Ashley Peden Bailey; his soulmate in life, Wanda Bailey; two brothers, John Bailey with wife Paula, and Carl Bailey with wife Kim; three sisters, Lynn Melvin, Annette Martin, and Gail Harvey; two grandchildren, Carson Pee and Madison Pee; and his rescue dog Bubbie that he shared with Wanda. He was predeceased by a brother, Ray Bailey; a sister, Barbara Farmer; and his beloved basset hound, Bailey. Don‘s celebration of life service will be held Sunday, May 15 at 4 PM at the picnic shelter at Green Pond UMC 168 Stoddard Mill Road Gray Court, SC 29645. Don loved being outdoors so we wanted to make sure and honor that as we celebrate his life. Please be advised that there will be limited seating and the service will be held outside. There will be an on-site rain location, if needed.
