Jerry Morris has been a very dear friend for over 50 years. I met him at Standing Springs Baptist Church.Jerry was a very quiet, gentle man with a strong faith , a kind heart and a giving spirit.
Through the years we shared a lot of good times and got through some hard times, too.He was my prayer partner.
Jerry loved his Lord, his church, his family and his friends.I have no doubt he has heard the long awaited words from his Lord, “ well done good and faithful servant”.I know this is a temporary separation. I will see him again. Thank you, Jerry Morris for being my special friend.

The Ford Family loved Mr. Jerry. We always knew we were loved by him. I think about the countless number of times I would answer the phone at mom and dad’s to hear Mr. Jerry say, “ I was just calling to check on everybody”. His friendship , love and support meant so much. He and Daddy were not just good friends but confidantes and each other’s valiant prayer warrior. Mr.Jerry was so kind, unassuming and unselfish. We were blessed to call him a dear friend. I give thanks that his health is restored and he is safe in the arms of Jesus. To Mrs. Eloise, Rick, Tracy… my thoughts and prayers are with you as you find your way without his physical presence. He will always be in your hearts.

Furman and I enjoyed many sweet hours of Christian fellowship with Jerry. Whether it was worshipping together, eating together, enjoying senior adult events including many good times at the beach. Furman and Jerry were in Sunday School together for many years.
Jerry was a great gardener and shared his vegetables with many people. His tomatoes were his pride and joy and I remember his Rattlesnake green beans. Ugly name but great beans.
No one will ever know of the many kind deeds Jerry did. He never bragged or brought any attention to himself. He just quietly went about mowing grass, building wheelchair ramps, taking people to the doctor. Whatever anyone needed Jerry gave of himself.
As long as his health allowed he would be found at Standing Springs Baptist Church Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday night. A quite but faithful servant.
