Obituary of Christine Mims Rhodes

Christine Mims Rhodes, 66, widow of David Freeman Rhodes, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Mrs. Rhodes was born in Spartanburg to the late Raymond Davis Mims and Glendora Hughes Mims. She was a member of Full Salvation Baptist Church and retired from Spartanburg School District #4. Christine loved trips to the beach as well as the occasional opportunity to see snow. Christmas time was near and dear to her heart, and she cherished Christmas music and movies. She enjoyed word-search and crossword puzzles, but her greatest joy was being a mom and a Nana and spending time with her friend Ralph Green. Surviving are two daughters, Christy Slemons with husband Kevin, and Teresa Ravan; five grandchildren, Savannah Lyda with husband Alston, August Ravan, Dylan Slemons, Brittney Brown, and Zoe Brown; and four great-grandchildren, Nova, Galax, Harper, and Atlas. She was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Garrett. Graveside services will be 3 o’clock Thursday at Greenhaven Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Fred Quidley and Rev. Ray Mims. Fletcher Funeral Service
