Obituary of Kerry Woods

Kerry Lane Woods, 72, husband of Odette Melita Gless Woods for 24 years, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 29, 2022. Mr. Woods was born in Jonesboro, AR in 1950 to the late Chester Eugene Woods and Lillian Laveda Woods Holmes. He was raised by his mother and step-father, the late John Holmes. He retired from both Kemet Electronics and Roechling Automotive. Kerry was born in Arkansas, raised in the St. Louis area, and lived in California before making his way to South Carolina with Odette. He was an avid reader, enjoyed doing internet research and was a Master BBQ griller. He collected anything Civil War related and loved his home and property. Kerry was fond of many things but his passion was his 2008 Chevy Corvette and the special dogs that shared his and Odette’s lives over the years. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Damon Woods; a daughter, Misty Woods; a granddaughter, Sadee Ann Warren and her husband William Peacock; a granddaughter, Destiny Woods; two great-grandchildren, Cadence and Rodney Peacock; and his aunt, Marlene Marcello. He was predeceased by a brother, Terry Woods; and a sister, Lynette Woods. Friends may visit the family between 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 17th at Fletcher Funeral Service in Woodruff as we celebrate Kerry’s life. Light refreshments will be served.
