Obituary of Frances "Mema" Dickson

Frances Marion “Mema” Burnett Dickson, 96, widow of Francis Marion “Frank” Dickson (yes…you read that correctly:), went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2022. Mrs. Dickson was born in Sumter, SC to the late Jefferson Salsby Burnett and Etta Mae Nichols Burnett. She retired from Hoechst Celanese and later served as post master in the Spartanburg ACE Hardware post office. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Mema enjoyed cross-stitch, sewing, traveling and reading. Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Henderson and Cathy Longshore; a son, Ronnie Dickson with wife Kathy; five grandchildren and their spouses, Sean and Michelle Henderson, Heath and Darlene Henderson, Shannon and Keath Roberts, Jimmy and Natasha Longshore, and Alan and Tracie Dickson; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler Henderson (Janet), Trale Henderson, Cade Henderson, Gavin Roberts, Rylan Roberts, Lucas Longshore, Mason Dickson, and Gunner Dickson; and a special caregiver, Karri Brown. She was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Burnett. A Celebration of Mema’s Life will be 11 o’clock Wednesday at Glendale Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Justin Nelson.
