Dewey W. Higgins, 72, husband of Linda Nelson Higgins, went to be with the Lord, Friday, July 29, 2016.
Mr. Higgins was born August 23, 1943 in Laurens County to Doris Wells and the late John Jackson Higgins. He was an avid fisherman and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Surviving, in addition to his wife are three sons, Michael D. Higgins, Kenneth W. Higgins (Brandy) and O’Neal Hurley; two step-daughters, Ashley Mims and Terrie Skelton; a granddaughter, Cassie Higgins; two step-grandchildren, Tiffany Campbell and Austin Hill; three step-great-grandchildren, Bella Charles, Zoey Charles, Gabriel Campbell; a brother, Robert Owens and a special friend, Randy Williams. He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris T. Higgins and his step-father, Wister Allen Owens.
Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Chad Jordan and Rev. James Owens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
