Obituary of Martha Ellis

Martha Victoria Hammett Ellis, 93, widow of Jack Howard “Mickey” Ellis, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
Mrs. Ellis was born in Charleston, SC to the late Edwin Iver Hammett and Ruby Alice Hammond Hammett. She was an alumna of Anderson College and retired from Cryovac. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, where she led the GA’s and taught the Mattie Talley Sunday School Class. Martha was the first female deacon at Unity Baptist Church. She was a member of the Mothers Club and the Garden Club. She was an extensive traveler who always looked forward to another adventure.
Surviving are a son, Phil Ellis with wife Ann; three grandchildren, Mandy Watkins with husband Craig, Dustin Ellis, and Shannon Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Greyson Watkins, Ellis Watkins, Will Watkins and Emilee Hall. She was predeceased by a son, Eddy Ellis; and a brother, Buddy Hammett.
Graveside services will be private.
