Obituary of Ada Geneva Odell

Please share a memory of Ada to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ada Geneva Thompson O’Dell, 83, widow of Charles Lynn O’Dell, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 30, 2022. Mrs. O’Dell was born in Buffalo, SC to the late Dever Wilburn Thompson and Mary Magdaline Solmon Thompson. She was a member of Pacolet Mill Baptist Church. Geneva retired from Arkwright Mill and was the owner/operator of O’Dell’s Florist. She loved holidays, decorating, solving puzzles and arranging flowers. She collected pictures and figurines of angels and birds. She was a huge supporter of the Boy Scouts, supporting two of her grandsons as they achieved their Eagle Scout ranking. Geneva was devoted to her family and selflessly served as a caregiver for all. She was particularly proud to be “Grandma” to her grandchildren. Surviving are three daughters, Kim Williams with husband Donnie, Kathy Greene with husband Steve Robinson; and Kaye Edge; a brother, Richard Thompson with wife Janice; five grandchildren, Chris Gosnell with wife Natasha, Erica Edwards with husband Dustin, Bryan Gosnell with wife Jessie, Austin Williams, and Marissa French with husband Coty; and nine great-grandchildren, Grayson, Easton, Max, Stella, Ellory, Oakley, Myles, Maylee, and Charlie. She was predeceased by two brothers, Wayne Thompson and Wilburn Thompson, Jr.; and five sisters, Ruby Thompson, Betty Lou Thompson, Mary Sue Hood, Carolyn Shockley, and Janice Gregory. The family will receive friends starting at 2 o’clock Sunday at Pacolet Mills Baptist Church, followed by a Celebration of Geneva’s Life starting at 3 o’clock. Burial will follow in Pacolet Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Attn: SC Gift Processing, 4600 Park Rd, Ste 250, Charlotte, NC 28209. Our family would like to express a sincere thank you to caregivers Georgia Harris, Stephanie Smith and Marquita Smith for your love and attention to mothers needs, and to Doug Askov for being a wonderful friend and neighbor. We appreciate you all. Fletcher Funeral Service, Woodruff SC
