Obituary of Don Edward Sargent

Don Edward Sargent, 76, husband of Rhonda Gfeller Sargent, went to be with His Lord, Saturday, October 8, 2022. Mr. Sargent was born in Greenville to the late James Edward Sargent and Frances McKee Sargent. He served in the 21st Naval Construction Regiment of the Sea-Bees in the US Navy during the Vietnam era. Don loved working on cars, motorcycles, and go-carts as well as racing them. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a Jack-of-all-trades. If he couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed. He was an overcomer, who continuously served his family, friends, and strangers anytime he saw a need. Surviving, in addition to his wife are two sons, James E Sargent II (Tara) and Roger Anthony Sargent (Thania); two daughters, Andrea Sargent Smith (Marcus) and Vanessa Sargent Arrowood (Josh); three brothers, David Sargent (Jan), Roger Sargent (Patti) and Phillip Sargent (Betty); fourteen grandchildren, Heather, Megan, Allie, Erica, Ashley, Grace, Dylan, Destiny, Aiden, Bryce, Giovanni, Matthew, Cooper and Abraham and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 2:30pm Wednesday at Simpsonville Church of God. The family will receive friends one and a half hours prior to the service starting at 1:00pm. Burial, with Military Honors will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park.
