Obituary of Betty Moore Sauls

Betty Jean Husk Moore Sauls, wife of James “Bird” William Sauls for 52 years, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 5, 2022. Mrs. Sauls was born in Central Station, WV to the late Samuel Arley Husk and Nora Virginia Harris Husk. After their passing, she was adopted, and raised by the late Forest Lloyd Moore and Juanita Harris Moore. She retired as an administrative manager in the business office of Roger C. Peace. Betty had a life time career in business administration where she also worked at Grand Strand Hospital and Hillcrest Hospital. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She loved to collect pig figurines and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Betty also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. One of her most loved past times was being “Mammaw” to her grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Jamie S. Ponder (Jeff), Darla S. Mosley, and Jennifer Sauls; a sister, Martha Todd (Woodrow); ten grandchildren, Brittany (Daniel), Jeffrey, Jeremy, Zack, Mackenzie, Corey (Alicia), Grant (Kristina), Gabbie (Will), Max and Gage; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, James “Butch” Sauls; and five brothers. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service. A Celebration of Betty’s Life will begin at 4 o’clock, Sunday at Salem United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Eric B. McKee, Sr.
