Obituary of Arthur Vaughn

Arthur “Art” Vaughn, Jr., 85, husband of the late Leora Cooley Vaughn, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Lenora predeceased Art exactly 20 years on October 22, 2002. Mr. Vaughn was born in Pelzer, SC to the late Hampton Vaughn and Elizabeth Jeans Vaughn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed auto racing and was an avid billiards and card shark. Art was a strong man who would give the shirt off of his back to help someone in need. He was a firm believer in our actions speaking louder than words. He could always find a way to show his love, whether it was showing up to a game or getting you a snack, he heard you speak about in passing. He was also quick to tell anyone who would listen how proud he was of his family. Surviving are two sons, Robert “Bobby” Vaughn, and Arthur “Artie” Vaughn; a daughter, Betty Poage; three grandchildren, Cody Vaughn, Kyle Vaughn (Kendall), and Heather Ashley (Corey); and five great-grandchildren, Layton, Braxton, Emmy, Ashley and Grayson. He was predeceased by eight siblings. Graveside services, with military honors, will be private
