Obituary of Sylvia Waller Clardy

Sylvia Waller Clardy, 75, wife of George Kendrick “Ken” Clardy, Jr. for 57 years, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 10, 2022. Mrs. Clardy was born in Salisbury, NC to the late Arthur Harold Waller and Camilla Jane Park Waller. Sylvia was a dedicated Army wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, playing the piano, and gardening. Sylvia had a thoughtful, talented, creative mind companied with a heart full of kindness. She loved and cherished her family. She had a passion for bowling, serving as a youth instructor and managing Brunswick Bowling for many years. Sylvia was an administrative assistant at Kemet Electronics before assisting with the family business - Eagle Auto Sales. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, George K. Clardy III with wife Michelle Atwell; a daughter, Erin Clardy Wyatt; a brother, Gene Waller with wife Joy; a granddaughter, Kristina Ritch with husband Michael; a grandson, Matthew Clardy; and a great-grandson, Liam Ritch. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Megan Clardy. A Celebration of Sylvia’s Life will be 7 o’clock Monday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. John Smith. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. A family committal will take place in the Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
