Obituary of Diane Walton Royer

Zetta Diane Royer went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2022 at the age of 59 after a tragic accident. Diane was a caring mother, grandmother, friend and wife. Diane was born in Miami Beach, FL to the late Calvin Walton and Eva Mae Spitzer Walton on September 24, 1963. Diane met the love of her life Jim Royer, where they worked together at Publix Supermarket and have just celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. They have one daughter Sabrina Marbry, married to Steven Marbry and have two daughters Hailey and Bristol. Diane was survived by her siblings Sandra Newkoop, Claude Walton and John Dubisky. She was preceded by sisters Brenda Dubisky, Linda Walton and Darlene Walton. Diane enjoyed decorating, especially for Christmas, crafting, shopping for others (and a little bit for herself), spending quality time with the family and friends. Decorating was one of Diane’s many talents, whether it be the jail cell at the old Laurens County jail haunted house or the many costumes that she made for the granddaughters. An excellent cook was among her many talents. Diane was a holiday designer by trade and just loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Her designer Christmas trees were one of a kind. She loved spending time with the family, it could be a drive through the mountains to look at the changing seasons, apple picking, a trip to the zoo with the grandkids or just relaxing watching them ride their horses. She always took time to keep in touch with friends, even if it was just to say hello or maybe a quick lunch. Her heart was so big, we don’t know how it fit in that slim body of hers. Her faith guided her every day and we know God has another angel by his side. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. A drop-in visitation will be held Wed Nov 16, 2022 between 4 – 6pm. at Fletcher Funeral Service. A family committal will take place in the Graceland East Memorial Cemetery Thursday Nov 17, 2022 at 1pm.
