Obituary of Ed Tollison

Robert Edward “Ed” Tollison, 79, husband of the late Frankie Linda Waldrop Tollison, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Mr. Tollison was born in Fountain Inn to the late Clyde Norman Tollison and Florence Elethia Harvey Tollison. He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and an advocate for members of the armed forces. Ed was gifted at small engine repair and worked tirelessly on fixing riding lawn mowers. He loved to wheel & deal and buy things. He was a huge fan of ZZ Top. His greatest pleasure was being Papa to his grandchildren. Surviving are two sons, Ron Tollison with wife Terri, and Steve Blackwell with wife Amanda; two daughters, Angie Brady with husband Kevin, and Kelly Bishop; a son-in-law, Daniel Turner; a brother, Norman Tollison; two sisters, Dot Boyter and Barbara Overton; and eleven grandchildren, Hannah, Henslee, Abby, Taylor, Kaitlynn, Emma, Laney, Emily, Jeremy, Gavin, and Daniel. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jamie Turner; a brother, Jimmy Tollison; and a granddaughter, Haven Blackwell. A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be 3 o’clock Monday at Hopewell United Methodist Church. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in the church cemetery.
