Obituary of Sarah Sherbert

Sarah Elizabeth Sherbert, 86, widow of Jonie Floyd Sherbert for 45 years, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 27, 2022. Mrs. Sherbert was born in Simpsonville to the late Alton Marion Chandler and Lucia Garrett Chandler. Sarah was an active member of First Baptist Simpsonville where she attended Builder’s Sunday School Class. She served on mission trips with Samaritan’s Purse and was a former member of the Eastern Star. Sarah enjoyed playing bridge and attending various activities at the Simpsonville Senior Center. She also created the prayer group at The Magnolia’s. Sarah had a lifetime legacy of giving and caring for others. She enjoyed cooking and being “Grandma” to her grandchildren. Surviving are a son Johnny Sherbert with wife Wanda; a daughter, Sheila Sherbert; three grandchildren, Summer Brown, Brandon Sherbert with wife Kim, and Brandi Sherbert; and three great-grandchildren, Dakota, Rylee, and Brooklyn. She was predeceased by a brother, Carol Chandler; and two sisters, Margaret Rice and Faye Hammond. A Celebration of Sarah’s Life will be 2 o’clock Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Randy Kirby and Rev. Delton Hand. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be private at Cannon Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse, 801 Bamboo Road Boone, NC 28607.
